Today (Tuesday 17 May.) At. 17.00 Department of History, University of Gdansk will start promoting one of the most recent publications devoted to the "cursed Soldiers," published by the Bialystok branch of the Institute of National Remembrance.
Album "In the hour sample. Soldiers of the independence underground in the Bialystok region after 1944 and their fate " is dedicated to the independence underground soldiers, fighting in the Bialystok region after 1944 This richly illustrated publication, containing over 500 photos and documents has been prepared primarily on the basis of archival materials from the resource Branch Offices and Dissemination of Archival Records in Bialystok.
The first part contains archival material relating to soldiers who fought in the underground structures of the two main strands, namely Region AK - WiN Extraordinary District Bialystok and Bialystok. reader will find photographs of the leadership cadre of districts, divisions, partisan ranks of soldiers, as well as documents produced by the underground, such as organizational orders, correspondence logs, requests promotions, specimens of the sample the underground press. These documents show the range of activities and the degree of organization of Bialystok underground structures and make them aware of the legality of armed conspiracy as the structure of the Polish Underground State.
The second part presented fifteen biographies some soldiers of the independence underground. They show the diversity of the fate and behavior of people who in 1944 decided to persistence in the resistance against the communist system and the effects of the declaration. On the basis of reports of officers UBP / SB, and documents the drama of the underworld can be observed policy choices, ideological and moral soldiers armed conspiracy.

In today's meeting was attended by the author of the album - Anna Chmielewska, Jolanta Drozdowska, Justin Gogolewska, and Director of Bialystok IPN, prof. dr hab. Cezary Kuklo with the head of the archives department of the Bialystok branch of the IPN, Eugene Kornelukiem.
